#1: The Balance Money

Owned by Dotdash Meredith, America’s largest digital and print publisher, The Balance Money is a trusted source for in-depth, practical guidance on personal finance. From investing and debt management to career planning and mortgages, their expert content has helped countless people take control of their financial future.

Being such an influential voice in the industry, their review of Let’s Eat, Grandma’s resume writing services is invaluable:

Let’s Eat, Grandma, (LEG) was founded by brothers Chris and Matt Villanueva in 2014. The Villanuevas realized that job searching can be one of the most stressful times of a person’s life and sought to help candidates in their search. The company provides career advice as well as resume writing services for active job-seekers.

One of the nice things about LEG’s resume writing service is that it includes a cover letter for its Accelerated Package which runs for $549 and includes everything in the Starter Package plus a cover letter, LinkedIn profile recommendations, a cold email, and a thank-you note guide. And, if you want the Premium Package, it also includes all features of lower packages, plus a second design for your resume and a LinkedIn rewrite, all for $689.

Although the Starter Package, which costs $439, was one of the higher-priced services we reviewed, we felt the option of having a phone conversation free of charge was a nice benefit.

We chose LEG as our best overall due to the high-quality resume that the company produced when we tested the service. Several sections of our test resume were among the best that we received from all providers we tested. Overall, LEG produced a top-quality document in a very timely fashion.”

#2: Career Sidekick

Mentioned in Forbes, INC, Business Insider, CNBC, Yahoo Finance, Huffington Post, and more, Career Sidekick is the go-to website for all things career and job search-related. Founded by executive recruiter Biron Clark based on his direct expertise in recruiting for Fortune 500 firms, this hub offers a wealth of information on everything from how to ace your job interview to boosting your salary.

Here’s what Career Sidekick had to say about us:

Let’s Eat, Grandma is an award-winning professional resume writing service and one of the best resume companies for most job seekers.

They’ve kept their resume services affordable for the majority of job seekers while aiming to be at the top-end of the quality when it comes to mid-range resume writing.

Unless you’re looking to spend a thousand dollars or more and specifically need an executive resume, I recommend Let’s Eat, Grandma.

I’ve spoken with the founder, Chris Villanueva, who is a Certified Professional Resume Writer, and I found that we agree on everything in terms of career advice, job searching, and writing resumes.

When you visit the Let’s Eat, Grandma website, you’ll see a breakdown of their writing services and packages available.

At the time of writing this, packages range from $399 to $649.

If you have a budget in the above range, then Let’s Eat, Grandma is one of the best resume writing options to look at.

All packages include a cover letter, and higher-end packages include a LinkedIn profile and guide to outreach messages.

On their website, you’ll also find a free resume review, as well as samples of real resumes they’ve written for other job seekers, plus a description of their resume writing process.

(Note: We now offer a resume package without a cover letter!)

#3: resume.io

Ranked 3rd Product of the Month on Product Hunt, resume.io is a resume builder that offers customizable templates and features to help you create the perfect resume. Whether you’re a newbie job seeker or an experienced professional, their easy-to-use resume maker can help you stand out from the crowd.

Having helped 15M+ job seekers create standout resumes, it’s safe to say that resume.io knows a thing or two about crafting the perfect resume. Here’s what they said about us:

Punctuation and attention to detail matters when crafting an impactful resume. Starting with the name of the company, no detail is overlooked when you work with Let’s Eat, Grandma. Every writing package involves a chat with your personal resume writer (who in turn works with mentors and senior-level editors) with multiple revisions.

All packages include a cover letter – it can be useful to have it written at the same time as the resume. They have chosen not to work with federal or academic resumes (as they have different requirements). They offer a helpful sample of previous work to aid your decision.

#4: Resume Spice

Run by the founders of Murray Resources (one of the country’s top recruiting firms), Resume Spice is a resume writing and career coaching service that prides itself on helping job seekers during all career stages. Recommended by CNET and ranked #1 for its services on Trustpilot, it’s one of the most well-respected companies in the industry.

Wondering what they had to say about Let’s Eat, Grandma’s resumes? Here’s their review:

Let’s Eat, Grandma consistently lands on most “top resume writing services” and it’s not just because of their memorable name.

Let’s Eat, Grandma knows exactly what it takes to land you a seemingly elusive interview. (Hint: it’s not working carelessly.) When you sign up for a resume writer, you’ll be asked to complete a detailed questionnaire, upload your current resume, and schedule a meeting with your writer.

They’ll get to work on drafting an updated resume before your initial consultation. Two days before your meeting, you’ll get a copy of the updated resume which helps shape your conversation.

The writers at Let’s Eat, Grandma will work with you to find the skills and experience that will distinguish you from other candidates and then get to craft a more focused and dynamic resume. Two days after your consultation, you’ll receive this second draft which will have been reviewed by another resume expert. You’ll then have one more opportunity to make any additional changes. The entire process takes approximately 2-3 weeks.

The additional follow-up call (if you opted for it) is a nice added touch.”

#5: Resume Genius

It makes us proud that many Let’s Eat, Grandma reviews  recognize our focus on client satisfaction. Photo by Kaitlyn Baker on Unsplash

An online resume builder, career resource website, and cover letter builder, Resume Genius is a one-stop shop for all your resume-related needs. Having been featured on Forbes, The New York Times, Business Insider, and more, its services are trusted by countless job seekers worldwide.

That means its review of us is the epitome of credibility:

A relative newcomer to the professional resume writing scene, the uniquely named Let’s Eat, Grandma was founded in 2014 and provides both free career advice and premium resume writing services.

The quality of Let’s Eat, Grandma’s customer service is exceptionally high. Their pre-consultation survey is thorough, giving their writers a clear picture of your work experience and skills, and their writers are professional and pay close attention to detail.

However, their most basic packages start at $439, and go up to $689 for premium services, making Let’s Eat, Grandma a bit expensive for some job seekers.

Additionally, all of Let’s Eat, Grandma resume writing packages include a cover letter. If you only need a resume written and don’t want to pay for a cover letter, you’ll find a better deal somewhere else.

Verdict: Let’s Eat, Grandma offers a high-quality, thorough product. While it’s more expensive than many competitors, we believe that quality justifies its higher price.
